Jamie's birthday cupcakes

So my husband's birthday was yesterday and instead of a cake I decided to make him cupcakes. Not a huge difference but a lot more fun for me to make. Since I have been trying to learn different things to do with cupcakes (there is a ton) I wanted to try my hand at adding cream on the inside of it. So, here's a picture of some of them that just got done with the cream:

Sadly the cream didn't stay white or cream-like. In fact when we bit into them you couldn't even tell there was cream in it. sigh Chalk one up to experience. Use different recipe. Have to mess up in order to get it right I guess. I'm pretty happy about the presentation of the cupcakes though.

I think they looked pretty. Of course the above is the best looking one. I really need a cupcake stand so I can showcase all of them at once.

They do look tasty! I love eating my mom's baking trial and error recipes. I still always volunteer to be taste-tester. As long as it's edible I don't care!

Ohhh Yummy, Ive been in a cupcake making mood myself lately, hmm... I wonder if pudding would work in the middles? oh jeez now I want a cupcake lol, they look SOO good, Carm

Even though the cream "disappeared" I bet they were moist and delicious. They look soooo good, I hardly ever have an opportunity to have cupcakes (good, homemade ones, I mean). Perfectly portioned and so yummy, what can beat a cupcake!!

The cupcakes sure look yummy and I do see lots of love and effort in them ... and experimentation

Well done for the first attempt on cream ... it will get better.

Just when I was commenting here, I was thinking how about Strawberry or Blueberry Jam or some kind of fruits in the middle. I am not too sure how it will work out though.

You know, that is something that ran across my mind after those cupcakes also. I've put strawberry jam in the middle of cakes before so I think it would be just as good inside a cupcake. I'm going to have to try that soon also!

Those look fantastic! I rarely make cup cakes and I have never made them with cream in them. I have been trying to bake new things recently though, so I might give that a try!
