So I baked Colton's cake today. I tried to make the recipe so that it made two 9x12 cakes. Well, that didn't work out. I ended up with two cake pieces that looked about an inch thick. Put them together and you have one layer of cake. I was a little annoyed at myself but knew that was going to happen. I had to run to the store to get more sugar because we were out. I needed it anyway for the frosting anyway. I get home and make the other layer and stick it in the oven. Done. Again.
Nope. We have to have a locked gate across our kitchen due to our dogs can't be trusted. They'll get into and spread the garbage from one side to the other of the kitchen. We have to lock this gate (not really a lock just a latch that they obviously can't undo) whenever someone goes out of it. I went out to see if I got any cool samples from the mail that my mom went to go get. Shaina was in the kitchen and as I walked out the door I told her that Jeremy was up.
She left the kitchen and not thinking left the gate wide open. Well, I had one of the cakes out on the counter cooling because I was in there. Mistake. Our two dogs ran in there once the coast was clear and ate the one sheet of cake. Clear in the middle. There was no salvaging this cake. I had to bag it up and throw it and make another one. I ended up making different parts to this cake three times. THREE. By the third time I didn't have to look at the recipe. I was just throwing the ingredients in the bowl left and right. Ugh. This cake better turn out awesome or I'm going to scream.

Thanks for dropping by. I really appreciated your comment.
