I recently found this game called Vector Tower Defense by candystand. It is not a multi-player game, it is not a third person fighting game or anything like that. In fact, this is a game where you have to actually use your head to figure out the best strategies to succeed in it. There is quite a different number of aspects with this game so I am going to start out with the most obvious when you start.
Music: The music on the game is pleasantly very nice. Usually I am one to go into a game and go straight to the controls and turn the music off or just mute my computer. This music was not bad at all and the whole time I played the game I did not get annoyed by it. It is very soft and fits the actual game really well. I enjoyed that because face it, playing a game without music really sucks.
Graphics: The graphics on here are not fantastic like a 3D game or anything. That could be because it is not a 3D game. You are first taken to a screen that has a black background and there is a map set in front. They are just blocks. The weapons or "towers" that you use are also just blocks which you place on top of pre-existing blocks. The colors are not too bright and also fit the game well.
Game Play: The game play of this game was sort of tricky when I first started. I had no idea what I was doing. I also did not read the snippet at the bottom giving a quick explanation of the game and how to play. You are given a 'bank' with a certain amount of money to start with. This money you use to buy your initial towers and place them anywhere on the map. Placement is everything with this game. At first I started thinking I would be smart and just throw them up anywhere I wanted, which was mostly in the front of the entrance where the vectroids come out. Later on I was wishing I had not done that because the vectroids speed up as you get further into the levels. If any of the vectroids get passed all of your towers without dying and manage to get to the other side you lose a life. Each vectroid that goes through there counts as one life. I went all the way to level 31 out of 50 without losing any lives until about 15 of them got away. You are only given 20 lives. You can later add onto your lives by destroying the bonus vectroids. Lives is not the only thing you can pick, you can also get a money increase, range increase, and a attack boost. The game is actually really fun. When I initially went to the site to try it out, I looked at it and figured I would not enjoy it. I was wrong and about an hour later I was still playing. I ended up with a score of 1,936,745 on the switchback map.
Final Thoughts: I would really recommend this game to anyone because I think all people of any age range would enjoy this game. It is not the kind of game I regularly play but I would rank it up there with them in terms of having fun. But, you don't have to take my word, you can read another review about Vector Tower Defense and other flash and online games by going to the link I previously provided. The games are reviewed in good detail at gamingtags.com and give you a fair review from someone who actually spends the time to play the games.
