Now, I have to say, I hated this fwaggle character for what he did and I never talked to him much. I just hated him with a passion. When he would enter the chat room I would say that I was shoving him in a microwave. Please remember I was 16! Soon after that we started talking to one another. He was going through girl problems and I was just there. We talked on the internet all the time. It never turned into an official online relationship. It wasn't talked about or anything, but it just was. After about a year of chatting online he started calling me on the phone. He was the one paying for it and it was expensive since he is from Australia and I am in the United States. I think it was about 6 months after he started calling me that he started planning to come out here for a visit to meet me. Sometime in later June of 2000 he came from Australia to visit me. We obviously hit off right away from talking to each other so much previously for almost 2 years online.
About a month and a half after he came here to visit me, on September 8, 2000 we got married. We are still married today going on 7 years. I love the fact that we met online and got to know each others personalities first.
You can easily meet someone online these days. Maybe not in the same fashion as Jamie and I met, but there are sites, like FriendFinder that connect you with other people that are also looking. I love the fact that the site is free to sign up. I don't think you should have to pay a monthly fee to possibly meet someone. All you have to do is sign up and post your profile, then browse other peoples profiles and see who appeals to you. They also have blogs and chat rooms that you are able to go into. They make the process very easy to meet someone. The navigation on their site is very simple and straight forward as well.
