The stuff is coming in!

Yesterday was a pretty exciting mail day for a couple people in the house! For one thing, mom got a package that she has been waiting on. It’s an e-cigarette which we’re hoping helps her finally kick her smoking in the butt! The only complaint she had last night was it was a bit heavier than a cigarette, which I agree with her there. It felt more like a pen than a cigarette. However, what can you expect right? It has a battery so it’s got to be heavy!

Also in the mail yesterday we got a couple things that mom bought for the baby. It was the nursing pillow, rocker/bouncer chair, as well as a personalized blanket for him in blue. I’ll be taking pictures of the blanket as soon as I remember!

Now we’re waiting on the travel system, mattress, and bedding set. We’re hoping that comes today so we can get the crib set up all the way!

Freezing

The winter is finally coming in with full vengeance.  It’s about five degrees and says it feels like -7 degrees. The next ten days are supposed to be like this with the warmest  being about 24. Ugh. I love the winter when it’s warmer but there’s only so much that wood stove will do! It was alright today though, the only thing cold on me is my toes.

These are the days when I miss being in California with the weather there. When the cold you have to deal with is 50 degrees. In Indiana 50 degrees is like summer!

On another note though, we only have a few days until the next ultrasound as well as Jeremy’s eye surgery. I hope all goes well with his surgery. Poor baby!

Where’s my easy button?

I need a cookbook. I need to find my cookbook. The one that mom got me for Christmas last year. The Paula Dean cookbook to be exact. I wanted to look through it so that I can find something to cook for Thanksgiving from it. Yes, it is a Christmas cookbook but I am sure the recipes won’t mind being used for another holiday.

Now, if only I had my own big red easy button I would be able to find it in my room. Unfortunately, I don’t have that easy button and I can’t remember where I moved it to when I cleaned off the magazines and cookbooks from my desk! So disheartening! However, I do have about a week until we’ll be going Thanksgiving food shopping. Maybe I’ll find it by then.

Until then, I’ll have to use the internet. Oh the trusty internet. Now I can surf you while laying in bed again. Jamie got the laptop to semi work by switching out the batteries and not charging them all the way. This poor thing. I wish I hadn’t left that cup of coffee near it that fateful day. Alas, I can’t take it back and we can only move forward. I’m just thankful we can get some use out of it again. It makes the money we spent on it not seem so bad.

Now, it isn’t an $800 paperweight! Hooray! Still, why can’t it find my cookbook for me?

Paranormal Activity

I got the pleasure of watching the movie that is all the rage right now, Paranormal Activity. This movie is supposed to be the scariest movie of the year, or all time. I can’t keep up with all the titles of what is given to the film.

Now, this movie is actually really good and if you get in the right mindset then it is scary. Jamie says that some parts actually got to him too. That is a feat all in its own due to the fact that I don’t think he even scares!

Some parts of the movie were boring of course but you can’t be 100% since it was “home video” shots.

Paranormal Activity is even creepier if you were to watch it with a good surround system in the dark with no one talking. I’m not sure if you were to watch it the second time it would be as scary or creepy. I’ll find out as I’m going to watch it with my sister when she gets back home.

Now, after doing some reading on the film I found that there has been three different endings for the film. Two of which were shown in the theaters, one of the two only shown once I presume. The one that hasn’t been shown that I know of sounds to be a really good ending. I don’t want to give any of it away because I hate that in websites so I may touch on it later when the movie is out on DVD or more people watch it.

I do think if people like to be scared by movies and enjoy horror movies they would love this film! I did!

7 days and counting

We are now in single digits coming into the day for our very first ultrasound. Exciting!

Another exciting thing is that the weather is actually nice today. Unfortunately, by the time the 12th rolls around it’s going to be back in the 5o’s and raining. Of course.

Oh well, I do like the rain and cooler weather. As long as the ultrasound goes good, I’ll be fine.

It feels like Christmas jitters when you’re younger. You just want it to get here, you count down the days, of course it makes it go slower but you don’t mind.

I do mind! Hurry!

Did you notice the layout change? It’s simple. I love it.
