Neglected

I have totally been neglecting blogging or doing anything other than working and then playing the occasional games. I have been watching a lot of movies lately though. It helps working go by a little bit better. Instead of looking up weight loss pills I’ve been looking at Sex and the City and Knocked Up.

In fact, I’m going to have to start watching Knocked Up in private because I’ve been watching it so much! Any other movies that you think are good to watch? I want comedy – nothing that will make me cry!

The Other Boleyn Girl

Yesterday when I woke up at 3 in the morning with indigestion for the millionth time this month I decided to just stay up. I dropped my cards for Entrecard and updated some of my websites. By the time six in the morning rolled around I had most of the stuff I needed to get done, done. So I decided to watch a movie. After trying to decide between The Other Boleyn Girl and Baby Mama I choose to watch The Other Boleyn Girl. This is a movie that is set back when Henry VIII was King of England. It starred Natalie Portamn, Scarlett Johansson, and Eric Bana. The three of them had such great chemistry that it brought a lot to the movie.

The movie moved along wonderfully and never was dull. During it you always wondered what was going to happen and who was going to screw over who and how. If you know the story of Anne Boleyn then you know how that aspect of it ends. I actually have books in a series about King Henry VIII but I stopped reading the first one. I actually want to find those books, dust them off and continue reading them. This movie peaked my interest in those stories once more. In fact this movie is really good and I would love to own it. I am glad I woke up with indigestion yesterday because if I hadn’t I would not have watched that movie.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan

I watched You Don’t Mess with the Zohan the other day and I must say this was not one of the better Adam Sandler movies that I have watched. If you are expecting something like Big Daddy or Happy Gilmore you will be very disappointed.

Adam Sandler plays Zohan Dvir who is an Israeli Special Forces soldier that fakes his own death. He then emerges in New York to become a hair stylist. I don’t think this movie held as many laughs as his others for me. The storyline (yes I know, this is a Happy Gilmore Production film) was flat and there were some good parts but they didn’t outweigh the rest of the film which was quite boring.

The best part to me was how he got customers and kept them after getting a chance to style some hair. Don’t waste your money and see this in the theaters. Wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it.

Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda is a very cute story of a hero in an unlikely character. In this case a Kung Fu Fighter in a big clumsy panda named Po. Po has dreams of becoming a Kung Fu fighter while his father has dreams of him becoming just like him. A noodle cook.

The voice cast for movie is all star and set out for a hit! There are big names such as Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, and a number others. You can see the actors in the characters themselves which I enjoyed a lot. The movie had a good moral and a lot of good sayings in it. One which Oogway said I loved. It went, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”

This is a movie that adults and children alike could really get into. Adding this to your home collection when it comes out would definitely prove to be a good decision!

The Strangers

Over the past week or so I have been watching a lot of movies. I am going on a movie kick for some reason but that’s okay. I get more work done while I watch a movie than anything else. So, over the weekend I watched The Strangers.

The Strangers was said to be one of the most frightening movies in awhile. It started off with a young couple played by Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman arriving home late at night. Both visibly upset from some prior events in which you never really see anything but bits and pieces of it. Enough to fill in the blanks. Soon after arriving at the mans parents house begins the events. A young woman comes to the door asking for a person that didn’t live there. Then things began to happen such as items becoming missing, noises from outside, and all that jazz.

The basic jest of the story is, is that even if your doors are locked and you feel safe in your own home you truly are not safe. Unfortunately, I found this movie to be totally and utterly boring. It starting quite abruptly and ended the same. It was very predictable and not scary in the least to me. The creepiest thing about this movie was the masks on the face of the people.

If you went and paid money to see this movie I am truly sorry! This is definitely not a movie I will be watching again!
