I got to watch Enchanted the other night. Enchanted is a movie by Disney which brings to life the stories of Disney. The stories are more leaned towards Snow White as well as Cinderella. The Princess in this movie went by the name of Giselle and the Prince was Prince Edward. It begins in an animated setting in which the Princess and Prince meet each other. Cue the evil witch! She goes to give Giselle an apple but pushes her into a well, this is when the Princess begins her adventures in the real world.
When I first saw the commercials for this movie, I figured that the singing would overpower the actual movie, but it didn’t. There really weren’t as many songs as I figured that there were going to be. The acting was pretty well done. It was rather boring for the most part to me. It went slow in the middle and the ending was predictable. Even though it was a Disney movie and we all know they end “happily ever after”.
This movie would be best viewed with your child, brother, niece, nephew, or any kid you can pull in from the neighborhood. If you are watching it by yourself you may be disappointed.
Well, yesterday after I got all my work done I decided to watch 30 Days of Night. I was told by my sister it was extremely scary and I would love it. Of course when you have that in mind you expect the best. Something along the lines of the first time you watch The Blair Witch Project. Anyway, back on subject here.
30 Days of Night is set in a tiny Alaskan town. In the beginning of the movie there is about 200 hundred of the 300+ people leaving for the month since the sun will not be coming up. The lead character is played by Josh Hartnett and the lead female is Melissa George. They really do a good job surprisingly and the whole movie is very eerie. But the stars of this movie are not the humans but the Vampires who take over this small semi-deserted town and kill mostly all of the remaining people. At one point it was a total blood bath.
The Vampires appearances are rather creepy. The man in the picture above is the one that scared me the most. Just look at him! How can you not be scared of him. The main vampire was a bit disappointing in appearance though as he looked rather normal. They did not speak English like in other movies although there were a couple lines that were spoken in English only by the head Vampire though. They had their own language which were grunts, clicks, and clucks. Which all added to the scariness of them.
The movie was pretty good, it did not scare the living daylights out of me though which was disappointing. I wouldn’t mind watching it again but it would not be high on my list of must sees.
I got the pleasure of watching this movie the other day after my mom had told me that it was a really good movie. I figured that I would see for myself. I am a fan of Will Smith and have basically liked everything that he has done. This movie was no exception to that. Although slow in some parts, the movie gives you the whole before while showing you the during.
In the beginning I did not understand the things he was doing but it all comes together as the movie goes on. The action in it was very well done and the different things that happened were well thought out. The enemy or rather the “infected” were not shown as some grotesque super humans or anything which I rather enjoyed.
There was one point in this movie which made me cry but overall the movie had a good combination of action and feelings. I wouldn’t mind watching it again even though I know what is going to happen when. For those of you that have seen it, would you like to see a sequel to this movie?

Knocked Up is a movie about two people who have a one night stand and the woman (played by Katherine Heigl) ends up getting pregnant. The guy (played by Seth Rogen) is a 23 year old pot smoking person who has no real job except a website that he has created with his friends about nudity scenes with celebrities.
The movies humor is a lot like the previous movie that Seth Rogen has played in, The 40-Year Old Virgin. It shows how their relationship flourishes and falls the whole time of the pregnancy. I really liked how it was funny and sweet in parts in the movie. This is definitely a movie that I recommend people watch if you like silly comedy.
There is a lot of people in this movie that are hilarious as well as cameos from other funny actors. A definite movie that everyone can enjoy. Although, it has some strong language and a couple sex scenes so use your discretion with the kids!

The Messengers was the horror movie that was on last nights agenda. I remember seeing the trailer for this movie before it came out and really wanting to see it. It looked really scary.
This movie revolves around a teenage girl and her family that moves out to a new town and has boughten a run down farm house to try to start a new life and make money by farming. You learn early on that the young girl, Jess, has recently done something very wrong because her parents don’t trust her to be alone with her brother or drive their car. The little boy, Ben, is seeing ghosts in their new house and Jess is hearing noises. She knows that Ben is able to see them and one night sees them herself.
Before that they have a man that shows up to help them with their crops. The storyline unravels and becomes very predictable towards the end. I actually had what was going to happen at the end pegged. Nevertheless, this movie has it’s fair share of scary and surprising moments. Although you knew what was going to happen most of the time, it does not lead you away from the different things that happen.
If you are really looking for a scare then this movie is for you. With the storyline in the beginning and the events that take place it reminds you of a cross between Amityville Horror and The Shining. The acting was well done and the little boy, Ben is just so adorable.
