Happy Valentine’s Day

I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day. We don’t do much on this day because we think it’s a bit of a silly holiday.

So instead, I actually got off my butt and made a cake!

As the new year approaches

Well it is about time to say goodbye to the year 2009! Thank goodness too. This has been one of the shittiest years in most aspects that we have had. I’m not getting into it as it all has been discussed previously on here.

However, there were a couple good things that happened this year! One main one was becoming pregnant of course. That is going to make 2010 a good one for sure.

Jamie and I have made the decision that we are going to make 2010 a good year. That’s it. No excuses. It’s going to be better and that’s that. No resolutions this year. I obviously can’t do my normal “I want to lose weight” resolution being pregnant.

What is everyone elses take on 2010?

I decided that tomorrow I am going to go down and clean the downstairs area and mom is going to pull the Christmas decorations and tomorrow will be the day for Christmas decorating.

Hey, it’s almost December and it is time to get this holiday cheer into gear! Christmas is my favorite holiday to decorate, the gifts, the baking, the songs! The altogether cheerful way people are in and the people that aren’t, screw them!

I am hoping that tomorrow we can get both the trees up and decorated as well because that is what really makes Christmas what it is.

Hopefully most of it gets done so we can get some pictures!

Thanksgivng, already?

Looking at the calendar and even talking about it really doesn’t prepare you for just how quickly the holiday season starts sneaking up on you.

Can you imagine in just 16 days it is already going to be Thanksgiving? Really. Sixteen days. You know what that means? Soon after that it is going to be Christmas. I haven’t even started Christmas shopping either.

Forget about Christmas shopping, I still haven’t figured out what I am going to be making for my Thanksgiving dish! Ugh. I want to try something new and delicious. Most of the traditional things for Thanksgiving is already taken such as mashed potatoes, pea salad, gravy, rolls, and all that.

Whose idea was it for me to cook something?

So really, this year, what are you thankful for the most?

Jeremy and the cake

Jeremy w/1st birthday cake

Since it was Jeremy’s birthday celebration you gotta let the kid dig into his own cake. Of course there’s no need to call a Seattle personal injury lawyer. No Jeremy’s were injured in the celebration of this party.

Although, he was afraid.

It’s not like he hasn’t had treats before. He knows what smells good and what he likes. However, he has never quite been allowed to sit on the table and dig into his own personal sized cake before. The puzzled look says it all.

Uncle Jamie tried to give him a helping start with a bit of frosting. He wasn’t having that though.

So on Mom’s lap we tried. A little more brave while on someone’s lap. Checking it all out.

Until Shaina planted his hand into the cake and he got scared of it. Did I mention this kid is afraid of everything these days?

He got her back though.
