Ladybug Love

Duncan seriously loves his VTech Ladybug. I swear that is one of the first things that he crawls to to play with when I put him down on the floor.

It is quite loud and has a ton of different things for him to press. Also the handy pull string in which he has learned to pull and get the toy closer to him.

It is always amazing the different things he learns and so quickly.

This is a good crib!

This boy is growing up entirely too fast and I don’t like it.

This picture was shot 10 days ago today. Ten. One, Zero. He was kneeling in his crib.

I thought, oh I guess we better think about dropping down the mattress so when he starts pulling himself to a stand it won’t be dangerous.

Today I put him in there to lay blankets on the floor and I go back to look and I find him standing. Standing in his crib.

Now, he’s been half standing on his on his own for awhile now. So it isn’t totally unexpected.

When did he learn to pull himself up and stand?

The other day he was just getting the hang of getting into the crawling position. On the bed of course. This kid has no patience for the floor. I think because it’s hard. I don’t blame him.

Mats will remedy this and we’re getting them hopefully at the end of the month!

Why does he have to do everything at once?!

Duncan & Daddy - Christmas Tree

I’m a little late on the Christmas recap/tree decorating pictures but hey, what are you going to do?

Duncan wasn’t quite sure what to make of the Christmas tree.

Truth be told, when we brought it in he started crying.

Christmas trees are scary! Especially when your mom is laying on the ground underneath the tree to get the thing in the stand!

Our little soldier warmed up to it quite fast though. I took him over to it so that he could touch it and see that it wasn’t a boogeyman!

Decorating it was, eh. He didn’t quite know what to make of it. He liked touching the ornaments though.

Duncan & Mom - Christmas Tree

I didn’t get very many pictures of the present opening because I was too busy enjoying the moment.

That’s the good thing about holidays though, you get wrapped up in the moment of just being. Then later you get mad at yourself that you didn’t take enough pictures to remember the moment.

Here’s a few of Duncan and Daddy opening some presents though!

Like what the cats have done to the couch?

Christmas was a blast. Duncan made out like a bandit and I loved his first Christmas.

It’s amazing. This year I was going to go with the same resolution that I had last year: nothing. However, I have actually decided that I will be making a resolution this year.

What is it? I will be taking a photo a day. That is at least 365 photos for the year. Then I at the end of the year I am going to treat myself to a photo book of all (or most) of the photos that I take.

I figure I will budget about $100 for it. I saw on another website they got their photo book from a site called Blurb. They print the books with a hardcover if that’s what you want and they look like really great quality!

So, I will be attaching the photos to a separate website which I am still working on. I’m quite excited.

Of course, the photos will more than likely be all of Duncan.

It’s crazy. We expected it any day now and it popped up! Saturday while in the car going to Hardee’s I noticed that Duncan had finally got his first tooth poking threw his gums!

My little guy will not have a total gummy smile now. He will be a boy with a tooth! Right now it is barely poking through but it is quite enough to see that it is definitely there.

While nursing him, I have yet to feel it. That just means that 1-it isn’t in enough to make an impact and 2-he doesn’t know the “fun” stuff it can accomplish.

Oh, I can wait for that time, for sure.
