crib

I do believe that we have come down to the crib that we are going to get. Jamie, of course, says as long as it’s somewhere to put the baby to be warm and happy then he doesn’t really mind so much. We’re going for cheap, sturdy, safe, and pretty. So, we might have found it!

The picture above is it. It’s an Espresso Graco Lauren 4-1 crib. I saw it in person at Target and it is even more gorgeous in person than in the picture.  So, I’m pretty sure this is the one!

It’s going to look great with Winnie the Pooh in it! 12  more days until our ultrasound!

It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything about our pregnancy. Of course that doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about it constantly or talking about it entirely too much! I’m surprised no one has told me to shut up yet!

So, we are now into our 16th week and have about 24 more days until our ultrasound to check out the baby, the cyst, and the gender! Very exciting stuff right there.

The last doctor’s appointment went well, nothing eventful. I was told they are going to keep an eye on my weight since I’m not gaining but I’m losing and haven’t had any kind of sickness. I’ve lost like four pounds…which I didn’t think was a big deal. I think she made a bigger deal out of it then it was. I’m overweight so I’m not going to be gaining the 25 pounds and up that thinner women are supposed to gain! I think I’m doing good! haha

They found the heartbeat on the doppler for the first time so all is well with the baby! The little tyke didn’t play games this time and they found it pretty quickly.

We all just can’t wait until the ultrasound to find out everything is fine in the inside and what’s between the little tyke’s legs!! Better not play shy!

Well today was it! The first scan for the baby and let me tell you I was very nervous about it. I was scared that she was going to put the thing on my stomach and then tell me bad news.

I got all worried for nothing though as once she put the wand thing (don’t know the name) on my stomach there popped up baby!

Ultrasound: 12 weeks 2 days

She did her measurement thing and all was well. Everything looked great! Two legs, two arms, one head, ten fingers and ten toes were all accounted for!

Ultrasound: 12 weeks 2 days

When we first got in there she had asked if we brought anything to record on. We weren’t told about this so she popped one of their discs in and recorded the whole thing for us to bring home. I thought this was quite awesome as now we have the ultrasound pictures as well as a DVD of it all. The video can be found:

This little baby was bouncing all around in there. I am not looking forward to the karate kicks this kid will be jabbing into me. Okay, I am a little…a lot! It’s going to hurt though. Those little legs and hands were going, going, going!

They did find  a cyst on the left ovary though which she said was the size of a golf ball and they have to keep an eye on it. Due to this cyst they scheduled me another ultrasound at 18 weeks. That is on November 30. Hopefully by then they can also tell us the gender. I’m not sure how these things work but I don’t see why they wouldn’t.

How exciting! In about six weeks, a month and a half away, we will know whether there is Audrey in there or Duncan.

And now the countdown begins!!

Weather wise this summer/fall has been pretty non-existent. I feel like I’m back in California where we had two seasons. Summer and winter. I think summer this year lasted for 2 weeks. Half of August we spent in sweaters. Now in October we have heaters running and 50 degrees feels like 20.

Imagine in a month or so we’re going to be in the 20s and hoping for 30-40 degrees. I just can’t believe it.

I also can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I know, I know, no one wants to hear it. I sure don’t want to think about it. I love the holidays but love them more when I have money!

On other news we now have nine days until our first ultrasound. The doctor tried to hear the heartbeat with the doppler for the second time and couldn’t find it. Of course, from what I’ve been told by family and online, it is way too early. They tried at 8 weeks as well. What is the baby the size of? A raspberry. Throw that onto I’m not a small woman and how the hell do you expect to find that itty bitty heartbeat?

Of course at 11 weeks when they tried I got kind of upset. They want us to come in on the 8th, 4 days before the ultrasound. We’re going to call and tell them we have a flat tire and can’t get out there. I don’t want to sit there a week later and not hear it and get upset. What good is it going to do 4 days before the ultrasound?

Waste of gas it would be! Considering it is about 45 minutes drive. Pssh.

Now depending on where you look the baby is the size of a lime or a fig. Who knows which of these sites are correct but it’s amazing how fast they grow.

If only I could get some of that pregnancy heat that people talk about. Then I’ll be good…

We are officially in the ninth week of the pregnancy. It’s pretty surreal still and I can’t believe we’re already in the third month and I don’t even need fall protection if I faint!

The doctor’s appointments are going well. The last one I went he tried to find the heartbeat but couldn’t. That was at about 8 weeks which I guess isn’t uncommon to not hear it that early. I’m hoping they try again and can find it next appointment. That is on the 1st.

We got our first ultrasound date as well which is October 12th. Oh we’re so flipping excited for it! Too bad since we found out the days have been dragging! By the time that we get the ultrasound we will be a day under 13 weeks. Then that’s almost second trimester I think!

Time is flying (sort of). Can’t wait to see the baby and just make sure everything is okay!
