Unexpectedly one of our cat’s fell pregnant. I say unexpectedly because she never gets out of the house. Barely is downstairs when someone isn’t down there. Is usually in my room sleeping. All day. All night.

During her pregnancy she didn’t even gain the “oval” shaped belly. But she was pregnant and she did have kittens. Unfortunately for the kittens, one was undeveloped and was a still birth, one made it but was sick as she went to hide it under my bed, and then one made it and was healthy. The sick one died two days later next to Lolli. Very sad but also expected.

The one that made it is still not old enough to find its own home yet so we’re enjoying watching it explore and run around.

We call the kitten Short Stack.

Lolli's Kitten

As all baby animals, Ruby has taken a strong liking to the kitten and tries to be the Mama. You can see the total size difference from Ruby’s nose to the kitten! This was in mid patting at her nose.

I have also caught a rare photo. One I have always wondered how people get them. How they manage to be there at the right time, how they managed to stop looking at the top diet pills and take a picture of…a cat mid yawn!

I did it. It’s beautiful. Okay, so maybe Short Stack looks a bit psychotic, that’s okay though.

Mid-Yawn

I am victorious!

Ruby

There’s a picture of Ruby that I took last night. Here eyes are not really that weird color. One turned out flashy from the flash while the other redish pink.

How cool would it be to have that color pupil though?

The only problem with that picture is the curtain that has fallen down. Oh that and my Grandpa’s beer that I had to hide in my room when he was alive.

No one drinks beer in the house. I’m secretly hoping he comes back in ghost form and drinks it so I don’t have to find something to do with it!

Which reminds me, anyone know any recipes that call for beer?

Another thing that reminds me, my brother got a website and he has a blog set up on it. He actually wrote something on it as well.

Go welcome him to the internet! His website is called Clever Trevor.

I need to hit the hay. I downloaded a movie so I’m going to go shower, watch the movie, then hopefully wake up early! I need to start work earlier. I’m way behind on it.

Ruby

Ruby is a very good dog. She has quite the personality and she knows that she can just bowl us over with her beautiful looks.

Every night when she is tired she gives us hints. Some of these hints are that she will lay in between Jamie and my desk chairs so that she can grunt and sigh heavily.

Another one of her signs is that she will put her head on my desk and look like “Please, can we just go to bed.” In fact, I’m getting the nudge as I write this.

I took more pictures but I fear if I don’t get into bed right now I will upset Ruby and her beauty sleep.

Lord knows she needs it. All 17 hours a day of it!

Luckily tonight I had gotten my work done earlier than I had figured. Lucky because I was still reading that site I had talked bout earlier today! While on The Pioneer Woman I moved to her photography section where it shows actions and such for Photoshop. I had always seen these in there but thought nothing of the section.

In fact, I see a lot of stuff in Photoshop and think nothing of it. I’m a very “copy, paste, crop” kinda gal when it comes to Photoshop. My eyes have been opened.

I tried it on this picture of Ruby at the park. One of my very favorites of her.

Here is a before the actions:

Here is an after the actions:

So much more colorful, crisper, prettier, don’t you think? I went through a lot pictures we have on our Flickr account and played with them. I can’t wait to take some pictures and try it out more.

I’m really thinking here people!

I have two dogs as you all know. Ruby and Destiny are German Shepherd/Malamute mix. Ruby takes on the longer hair while Destiny shorter. Both shed like beasts and we will usually have their fur all over the house no matter how many times we sweep it up.

So I was browsing different websites and came across a picture of a dog with it’s fur all around it. I stopped to read the post about (Style Swag was the website) the The FURminator and saw they were holding a contest. Long story short I won my very own FURminator for my dogs!

I just got it today and it even came with some dog treats! I used it first on Ruby which has since stopped the major shedding. Boy was I surprised to see all the fur that the FURminator was getting off of her! I put it in the box and took a picture so you could see it too:

Fur removed using FURminator

I didn’t even think she was shedding and all of this came out in just a couple minutes of using this! Destiny didn’t have too much come off of her although we were able to get the fur on her leg to look normal again. It was always butt crack looking and wouldn’t lay right. Once a rough feeling dog now feels so smooth it’s unbelievable!

Do I recommend the FURminator to others? HELL YES! It made a believer out of me!

It tired Ruby out!
