Did we even have a summer?

Posted in General, Pregnancy on October 3rd, 2009 by Sabriena – Be the first to comment

Weather wise this summer/fall has been pretty non-existent. I feel like I’m back in California where we had two seasons. Summer and winter. I think summer this year lasted for 2 weeks. Half of August we spent in sweaters. Now in October we have heaters running and 50 degrees feels like 20.

Imagine in a month or so we’re going to be in the 20s and hoping for 30-40 degrees. I just can’t believe it.

I also can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I know, I know, no one wants to hear it. I sure don’t want to think about it. I love the holidays but love them more when I have money!

On other news we now have nine days until our first ultrasound. The doctor tried to hear the heartbeat with the doppler for the second time and couldn’t find it. Of course, from what I’ve been told by family and online, it is way too early. They tried at 8 weeks as well. What is the baby the size of? A raspberry. Throw that onto I’m not a small woman and how the hell do you expect to find that itty bitty heartbeat?

Of course at 11 weeks when they tried I got kind of upset. They want us to come in on the 8th, 4 days before the ultrasound. We’re going to call and tell them we have a flat tire and can’t get out there. I don’t want to sit there a week later and not hear it and get upset. What good is it going to do 4 days before the ultrasound?

Waste of gas it would be! Considering it is about 45 minutes drive. Pssh.

Now depending on where you look the baby is the size of a lime or a fig. Who knows which of these sites are correct but it’s amazing how fast they grow.

If only I could get some of that pregnancy heat that people talk about. Then I’ll be good…

Out with the heat, in with the cold?

We had a good couple of days didn’t we?

We knew it had to come to an end sometime but I didn’t think our time together would have been so brief.

Two days is hardly enough time to get to know each other, dear friend.

Now your evil sibling is coming to take your place soon and we will have to wait a couple days to see each other again.

To that I say bcbsnc! Jibberish is what you have made me resort to.

Don’t spend too much time away dear warmth, I don’t like your sibling the cold.

All Moved

Well I had Jamie move and redirect the website so now I am officially on WordPress!

Oh man I just remembered I have to put my Google Analytics code in. I’ll have to do that in a minute.

I put in a request to join the IronCupcake for my cupcakes and to maybe get Frosted Fantasie some traffic and people looking at it. Hopefully I can join in on February’s IronCupcake challenge whic his coffee. I have just the idea for it as well.

It’s starting to warm up weather wise thankfully. It’s going to dip again real soon which I’m not looking forward to. So much to do with so much cold to go around! Looking forward to spring time, that’s for sure.

Crazy Early Morning!

Posted in The Family on August 16th, 2007 by Sabriena – Be the first to comment

Last night marked the day before school for my little brothers. Of course the adults in the house were kind of playing it off as a happy time, you know how your parents used to do it. It’s always fun to be on the other side of the teasing. Although they actually don’t mind going to school and all get good grades. Anyway, this isn’t a post about how awesome it is that it is the first day of school and everything. This is a post of how flipping insane the very early morning went.

Everyone went to bed early so that we could all wake up early the next morning. I wanted to see how my littlest brother looked when he left because 7 year olds are super cute when they’re dressed up. So, I think I ended up turning the tv off and going to bed at about 10 or 10:30pm. Pretty early. The next thing I know, my brother, Trevor, is in my room saying the town alarm is going off and it is pouring down rain with lightning and thunder going off like crazy. So, half awake I’m saying things like, “Wait..what? What’s going on?” I look out our window and instantly wake up..oh my gosh! It was storming like crazy!! I couldn’t believe it. We were expecting rain but not severe thunderstorms! So, I go downstairs to go to the bathroom and get scared because my other brother, Colton, is downstairs going to the bathroom. He had shut up all the windows and we stood in the living room looking out amazed that we couldn’t even see across the street! It was a pretty horrible storm. The news was saying the lightning was hitting the ground, the thunder was shaking the house, and the rain was so heavy that it was making the house leak in places it hadn’t leaked before!

Then it happened…

My brother was standing there and Jamie was standing near the archway to the great room. Jamie turned the light on to see and the turned it off. All of a sudden, Colton jumps onto the couch and screams, “OH MY GOD SOMETHING JUST BIT ME!!!” I thought he stood on something and was like, “What?” until all of a sudden, I swear 30 seconds later Jamie grabs his foot going “I just got bit by something too! GET OUT OF THE LIVING ROOM!” I wanna stop here in my tale for a second. Isn’t it cute how loved ones think of you while they are in intense pain?

So, he had to see what the hell had bit them both so quickly. He turned the light on again..looked up at the light. There is about 30 hornets flying around the flipping light in the living room! ONE IN THE MORNING! We have to deal with this storm waking everyone up, the town alarm going off, and now hornets in the house!!

It was freaking insane. I had to go wake up my mom to ask her where her bug spray was. Of course she was half awake and didn’t quite understand what was going on! I had to be pretty pushy to get her going! haha That part was funny. So she comes down with some bug spray (that isn’t going to kill them) and Colton and Trevor are stuck in the Dining room and Jamie, Mom, and I are stuck in the kitchen! So we were stuck there for a good while. Then the lights go out! Everyone was freaking out!

Finally, Trevor decides to put on the only shoe we could find (did I mention no one had anything on their feet but my mom? All bare feet!) and stomp on them. Of course the only shoe he found was my moms boot. Only one of them. It was comical.

Jamie then gets an idea then. We have those sticky fly strips..and he takes one and says he’s going to put it by the light in the great room. Then when everyone gets safe, he’s going to turn off the light in the living room and turn the light on in the great room. They’ll fly towards that light and hopefully get stuck on the sticky thing. Thankfully..it ended up working. I didn’t see how many there were until this morning. That whole fly sticky paper is filled with hornets! I was scared to come downstairs!!

Early this morning was hell. I felt sorry for the kids! They had to wake up and go to school after all of that.

Sorry this was so long and drawn out. I couldn’t skip anything!!
