It’s amazing. This year I was going to go with the same resolution that I had last year: nothing. However, I have actually decided that I will be making a resolution this year.
What is it? I will be taking a photo a day. That is at least 365 photos for the year. Then I at the end of the year I am going to treat myself to a photo book of all (or most) of the photos that I take.
I figure I will budget about $100 for it. I saw on another website they got their photo book from a site called Blurb. They print the books with a hardcover if that’s what you want and they look like really great quality!
So, I will be attaching the photos to a separate website which I am still working on. I’m quite excited.
Of course, the photos will more than likely be all of Duncan.
I decided for the sake of being easy, having more options, and just no real reason, that I was going to switch my website over from Serendipity to WordPress.
I use WordPress on a couple other websites and actually used to use it in the very beginning of this website. Since then I went to Serendipity because my husband said it was easier. It was! Since then I have wanted the different themes, plug-ins, and things that go with WordPress.
I will be slowly, very slowly, moving posts over from the main website. The graphics and brushes will of course be moving as well.
Here’s to a new start!
I like finding good websites. When I find a good website I may spend hours or days reading everything they have written about. Looking at their pictures, becoming interested in their writing style, who they really are, what they think about. For the short time that I catch up on their website I become obsessed.
Reading someone’s website from the beginning to the end is almost like reading a book. Becoming interested in it is like becoming a stalker. I guess, in a sense, I am a stalker today. I had found this website before but only looked at the cooking section. Last night I went back to it and read the actual blog part. What caught me was the gorgeous pictures and of course her kitchen. Jealous? You bet!
Ok, ok! You probably want to know website I’m talking about. Should I share it? If I don’t does that make me more of a stalker? I guess I’ll share it. The website is Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. So far I am in love with everything about this website. I do this. I find a website and love it and then when I have read all the website it’s like a good book that is over.
But unlike the book, I can easily pass it on to all of you. This really is one of those websites that is a gem to find. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go back to reading/stalking.
Here I am, back with another complaint about websites! In my recent adventures through the internet (yes, sometimes they are adventures) I have noticed that some people seem to believe that posting Youtube videos on their sites means it is content. There was really only one website that I have seen where it works for them. I actually went back to their site to watch an episode of a reality TV show!
Anyway, this seems to be happening more and more. There are blogs that are just chalk full of Youtube videos. Why? It is actually rather annoying to go to a blog and not see anything original, interesting, or compelling. Heck, give me a funny picture at least! If I wanted to look at the music video that just came out, I would seriously move my little mouse to my Firefox and type in the Youtube address myself, do a little search for it and watch it myself.
Since when does Youtube videos equal content on blogs? Please, please be a little more original! Your blog is supposed to represent a part of you whether it is a niche blog or not!
So, I told you all that I had a new website idea early last week. Well, I have been working on it off and on. Mostly I have been working on it today though. I have yet to link it from anywhere or put it into search engines so here I suppose you can say is a sneak peek of it. I welcome all of you to check it out. It is a free sample site.
